Cherry Blossom Festival Not Quite Japanese

The cherry blossom festival was a pleasant way to spend a Saturday in the Heights. Met move very interesting people. At the festival I may have made some contacts for some interesting local history articles.

The event started with Taiko or Japanese style drumming. There were also demonstrations of tie chi and Chinese dance. It seem there was a distinct Chinese flavor to this year’s festival. Oh yes, and the much anticipated Kendo demonstration, well they cancelled. It appears they could not make it this month. The festival was postponed because of rain in March. The entertainment included social dance and other forms of dancing.

The reptile display was quite popular. I felt a little sorry for the snake because it was getting so much attention and handling.
